1. Nutrition for your health

Personal eating habits can contribute greatly to achieving better health and vitality. Day to day stress causes people to reach for prepared meals or to visit their trusted Italian restaurant instead of cooking fresh food themselves. This behaviour can lead to lopsided nutrition, where a deficiency of micronutrients such as vitamins, minerals or trace elements becomes prevalent. Deficiency in these micronutrients can cause a decline in health in the long run and impairs the body’s performance capacity. In order to ensure sufficient intake of all required nutrients and to maintain the body’s performance capacity at its maximum, it is important to take the three macronutrients in balanced proportion. The daily requirements of macronutrients and micronutrients should be met through balanced nutrition. In some cases, such as in strenuous times of intense exercise, it can be a good idea to supplement vitamin and mineral preparations as well.

2. Training for health

Apart from nutrition, training can also contribute to the body’s health. Walking or jogging 3 times a week for a duration of 20 minutes followed by a 15-20 minute workout is optimal. It doesn’t always need to be an intensive workout at the gym. Even a higher daily activity level can have long term positive effects on health. Activities such as climbing stairs instead of taking the lift or riding a bicycle instead of public transportation are smart ways to change activity levels.

3. Strength and endurance training for more mobility and movement

If there is an option to schedule 4-6 hours of exercise per week, a mix of strength and endurance training is suitable for general performance and health. The strength component challenges and builds muscle. Building new muscle increases the basal metabolic rate of the body. Apart from this, the complex movement sequences especially whiledoing basic exercises such as deadlifts, bench presses or squats are perfect to train the interplay of large muscle groups and to improve general mobility and flexibility for daily life. Over time, this can compensate for poor posture from working long hours at a desk, for instance. The additional endurance training positively impacts the cardiovascular system and improves the general condition. Several calories are burned within the shortest time with HIIT Training. Endurance training can be simple and straight-forward; running, cycling and swimming. Most gyms have treadmills, steppers and rowing machines for fitness training.
