General information about organic protein
Bio Protein by foodspring consists of milk proteins of organic origin. It features a natural distribution of 80% casein and 20% whey protein. The organic protein is free of artificial flavours and sweeteners. We set high standards in terms of production and raw material selection in order to offer a pure, certified organic protein of the highest quality.
Organic protein by foodspring is suitable for even the most demanding of athletes thanks to its natural certified organic ingredients. We only use raw materials from natural and sustainable organic farming for our organic protein.
The high-quality protein composition has been developed by our nutritionists and product experts. The foodspring manufacturing process has both HACCP and ISO 9001:2008 certification. We also follow the GMP "Good Manufacturing Practice" guidelines set by the EU. And it goes without saying that we have organic certification from the German inspection body, Grünstempel e.V.
This organic certification guarantees the highest quality standards. Certified organic quality means: Organic origin with natural flavour and no artificial ingredients. It means that we only use milk from distinguished organic farmers who keep their cows on large pastures and refrain from adding growth hormones and antibiotics to their feed.
We are committed to animal welfare and strongly opposed to factory farming. The cows that produce the milk for our protein have enough space to roam freely. This gives the animals sufficient time for healthy growth and allows them to develop naturally.
Our organic protein is purely organic and natural. There are no genetically modified organisms in the ingredients of our organic protein or the feed of our pasture cows. The pesticide-free production is environmentally friendly and by using organic fertilisers, we also contribute to the environment. Nothing but the best for you, the animals and the environment.

Organic protein is ideal for muscle building
With a combination of whey and casein protein, the organic protein contains a complete amino acid profile for muscle building. The whey content can be used by the muscles immediately and supplies them with essential amino acids which support efficient regeneration and repair.
Why are proteins so popular when it comes to muscle building? Proteins are essential for the body. They not only play the main role in muscle building, they are also important elements for organs, the immune system, hormonal balance and the metabolism as a whole.
The body needs a constant supply of protein to survive. That's why proteins should make up about 15 to 20% of your diet. Amino acids are the elements of proteins.
We differentiate between essential, semi-essential and non-essential amino acids. Essential amino acids are those that the body cannot produce itself. The best known essential amino acids are the BCAAs. These Branched Chain Amino Acids; leucine, isoleucine become available to the body very quickly and can be metabolised directly in the muscle.
Organic protein for muscle definition
As well as muscle building, organic protein is also ideal for the definition phase. This is down to the fact that it also has a casein content in addition to the whey.
Casein is a protein which occurs as a natural component in milk. This protein remains available to the body over a long period of time due to its special structure and digestibility. It takes up to 8 hours before it is fully utilised by the body. It has been shown, that successful synthesis of the body's own protein for muscle definition can be achieved through a combination of casein and whey.
Casein provides the best support for a negative energy balance when combined with a high-protein slimming diet with reduced calories.
Our organic protein contains 80% casein which makes it ideal for use before sleep. This keeps you supplied with protein over an extended period of time, which is vital for maintenance processes in the muscles during muscle definition phases.
A sufficient supply of casein protein is particularly important during intense workouts for ensuring the preservation of muscles in the definition phase.
The effects of organic protein
Casein protein, or milk protein, makes up the largest part of our organic protein powder. It is a so-called "slow" protein which means it is absorbed by the body over a longer period of time. Absorbing and utilising the protein can last up to hours. This makes it ideal for supplying the body over a longer period of time e.g. overnight or for extended stress times.
The processes that occur in the muscles are known as anabolic and catabolic processes. The anabolic process starts immediately after training. The body reacts to the stimulation of the muscles and transports proteins, i.e. amino acid elements, to the muscles in order to provide them with the nutrients they desperately need.
The catabolic process works in reverse. If there is no supply of protein elements, our body starts breaking down muscle. The clear advantage of organic protein is that it is available to the body for up to 8 hours and ensures a constant influx of essential amino acids.
This spectrum of activity supports anabolic processes brought about by intense workouts. It also slows and stops catabolic processes that can occur due to a lack of nutrients.
The secret to long-term muscle building is not only supplying the body with protein shakes, a healthy everyday diet is also essential. Including high-protein foods in your daily diet makes protein available to your body throughout the day which it needs to build new muscle.
High protein foods include fish, meat, nuts, dairy products, quinoa and quark. It is important to include both animal and vegetable protein in your diet to keep the body healthy in the long term. A study in the Nutrition Journal of 24 athletes found that supplementing your diet with whey protein and casein protein can significantly increase not only muscle mass, but also strength and energy.
Who should use organic Protein?
Organic protein is suitable for anyone who values exclusive ingredients from certified organic farming. By taking great care during the production process and using organic milk protein and natural raw cane sugar as a sweetener we are setting new standards in the protein market. A natural taste achieved with real vanilla beans and cocoa beans makes a pleasant change from the monotony of standard protein powders.
Thanks to an ideal combination of various protein sources, our organic protein is ideal for athletes who want to build muscle and provide their body with valuable nutrients over an extended period of time.
It is usually used for fitness and weight training, but is also excellent for endurance athletes or as a meal supplement when dieting.
Organic protein also supports muscle definition because it helps maintain muscle mass and can be used as part of a high-protein slimming diet.
Our organic protein is also very good for baking thanks to the its high casein content. Casein protein is heat-resistant. You can use it to make delicious protein brownies or your own protein cakes with added casein. Thanks to the casein's creamy consistency, organic protein is also ideal for those who like to create protein shakes with a flavour and consistency similar to that of real milkshakes. Combine organic protein with fruit for a healthy protein snack.
The correct intake of organic protein
Protein requirements are different for different people and depend not only size, weight and gender, but also daily activity. The German Nutrition Society (DGE) recommends 0.9 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day. However, exercise significantly increases your need for protein: to 1.5 - 1.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight. The cause: During intense workouts more building and repair processes take place within the muscles. These processes can only take place if there is a sufficient intake of proteins.
Slow proteins like casein are absorbed more slowly by the body.
The advantage is that they are available to the body for longer, up to 8 hours after ingestion in fact. This is why casein is also known as night protein, it supplies the body with proteins and, in turn, amino acids while you sleep.
This makes it perfect for consumption directly after training or before bed. As a booster during intense workouts, for regeneration after exercise or to supplement your diet - organic protein has a wide range of uses.
Possible side effects of organic protein
An organic protein is generally very easy to digest , because it is free of chemical additives. As with all milk proteins, organic protein also contains lactose.
Athletes who suffer from lactose intolerance should use other protein alternatives. We recommend a vegan protein with a high-quality amino acid profile and high protein content.
If you suffer from diabetes you should consult your doctor before consuming organic protein, because we use raw cane sugar as a sweetener.
Maintaining an optimised fluid balance is also essential. If you consume a lot of protein, you should consume no less than 2-3 litres of fluids per day, with water of course being the preferred fluid of choice.
If you have any history of kidney problems, you should consult your treating physician before taking protein powder over an extended period of time.
